Time Servers

The Time Server functionality is a requirement in all the critical systems, and particularly in aerospace and defence ones. In addition, the complexity of modern systems and the fast evolution of synchronization technologies add a new variant: the need of time bridging capabilities to share the time reference between different protocol-based equipment and different time domains.

RelyUm Rugged offers COTS multiport and multimedia Time Servers with clock Master, Slave, Boundary and Bridging capabilities, responding to the above-mentioned needs.

Technologies

  • PTP v2 (IEEE 1588-2008 v2): Grandmaster, Master, Slave, Transparent Clock
    • PTP v2 Grand Master synchronization to the reference clock: ± 50 ns (± 25 ns in optimized mode for static position with GNSS reference)
  • NTP: Server/Client
    • NTP v4 (RFC 5905), compatible with NTP v3 (RFC 1305), NTP v2 (RFC-1119) and NTP v1 (RFC-1059)
    • SNTP (RFC 4330)
  • GNSS: Time source, geolocation
    • GPS L1, Galileo, GLONASS G1 and BeiDou B1 frequencies
  • IRIG-B Master 
    • Support through IRIG-B output (optional) for all the IRIG-B Time Code Formats (distributed as DCLS pulse-width coded signal)
  • Additional L2/L3 (HSR/PRP, TSN, etc.) switching/routing and security (MACsec, IPsec, IEEE 802.1X, etc.) technologies embedded in the same platform
