As in previous years, the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) has organized a Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) related testbed, which is now taking place in Stuttgart, Germany, from April 26th (Tuesday) until Thursday 28th (Thursday).
After a complicated 2020 and 2021, in which most of the actions have been virtual due to the pandemic, seems that we are gradually returning to normality. We didn’t want to miss the opportunity, so SoC-e team already travelled in order to attend the event.
More than 15 leading companies experts in Ethernet Networking and TSN are attending the event. Current Testbed is focused on three very clear goals:
- Interoperability Testing. Continue working on a permanent TSN interoperability rack composed by end-devices, network infrastructure and testing equipment for on-going and in-between testing of TSN capabilities by members.
- Configuration Testing. When it comes to this point, we are focusing on testing our latest 802.1AS-2020 implementation. We are testing the new Relyum RELY-TSN-BRIDGE+ platform with different testing vendors like Ixia or Calnex.
- Use Case Discussion: Transforming Technology into a Useable Ecosystem. This discussion is focused on the actual adoption of TSN. TSN has been around for quite a long period of time, but operational installations are still limited at this moment. The goal of this point is to review the most important TSN use cases and discuss what is missing to build the required ecosystem.
We took the opportunity to bring our newest TSN platform, the RELY-TSN-BRIDGE+ from our Relyum brand:
- Relyum RELY-TSN-BRIDGE+. It is a new networking device which is available with two different port configurations: 12-port version and 20-port version.
RELY-TSN-BRIDGE+ supports one of the largest number of TSN standards in the market, which makes it suitable for any TSN profile. These key features make it the most reliable and multipurpose networking device for critical environments.
The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) is the organization in charge of transforming business and society by accelerating the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Testbeds are a major focus and activity of the Industrial Internet Consortium and its members.
